Commemorative Works Act

The extensive site approval and subsequent design approval process has been established since enactment in 1986 of the Commemorative Works Act (Public Law 99-652).

This Act is described as -

"An Act to provide standards for placement of commemorative works on certain Federal lands in the District of Columbia and its environs, and for other purposes."
